The roots of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV) trace back to the pre-independence era of 1921. Following the passing of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi proposed the idea of founding a university in his honor. As Lokmanya Tilak advocated National Education as one of the pillars of his fourfold formula, alongside Swaraj, Swadeshi, and Boycott of Foreign Goods, the delegates of the inaugural Maharashtra Provincial Conference on 6th May 1921, under the leadership of Shrimat Shankaracharya of Karveer Peeth, resolved to establish a National University in Maharashtra. Thus, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV) as we know it today was born.
Transcripts from TMV contain the marks of each subject from the first to last semester. This is then placed in an envelope which is sealed and stamped/signed across the back-flap.
