PSG College of Technology, originally founded as PSG Industrial Institute in 1926 by PSG and Sons Charities in Peelamedu, Coimbatore, has a rich history. The engineering college within the institute commenced in 1951 under the leadership of G. R. Damodaran, serving as its inaugural principal. Achieving autonomous status in 1978 from the University of Madras, PSG College of Technology maintained this distinction under Bharathiar University and later, since 2001, under Anna University.
