Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, commonly abbreviated as DAVV and formerly known as the University of Indore, stands as a prestigious state university located in Indore, India. It takes its name from Ahilya Bai Holkar, the revered 18th-century Queen and ruler of Indore, who was the daughter-in-law of Malhar Rao Holkar, the founder of the Holkar Dynasty.
Initially, the university’s jurisdiction was confined to Indore city. However, it later expanded to encompass seven tribal-dominated districts within the Indore division, namely Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, and Barwani.
